Video for Jazzy Tourism by Kisk (Lopazz vs Eddie Zarook Remix), commissioned by Apparel Music for its first release.

The footage, shot on the smoothly sliding tramway of Porto, required almost no post production, just some editing for synchronizing events… which makes the difference from Michel Gondry’s masterpiece for Star Guitar by The Chemical Brothers (to which this video gives a little tribute).

Gestures to Video to Audio

The workshop, held at the School of Media Design directed by Francesco Monico, offered an essential theoretical knowledge and a practical experience in the design and development of interactive artworks involving gestures, video and audio.

Day 1 – Notions of interactivity in art. The specta(c)tor is the center. The meaning of actions.
Day 2 – Analysis of “classic” and contemporary interactive artworks. Frontiers between art and cinema and music.
Day 3 – Glance on the tools: sensors and softwares. Mini projects proposals (video to audio to video) .
Day 4 – Introduction to Max/MSP/Jitter.
Day 5 – Group development of the projects.
Day 6 – Finalization of the prototypes.

Bit of Human is an experimental short movie directed and produced by Bro Group, namely Nicola Smanio, Olivia Verona, Lucas Zanotto and myself. First work for all of us, the movie had a warm welcome in worldwide festivals.

Synopsis

Bit of Human

Before being, act is free. It implies different possibilities. It constantly sculpts the present. The inner manicheism of human being becomes a dialogue between ancestral counterparts. You are what you do. In facing reality, freedom becomes just an ideal.

Description
The film analyzes the daily routine of a being separated in two halves. It focuses on the freedom to choose between possibilities, on the rituals of daily surviving in a metropolitan area and on the lack of confrontation in nowadays life.

The split screen is used to sustain the scattered main narrative. The synchronization of the images, shot with multiple cameras, echoes the duality of beings and the possible choices.

The score as well, reflects the echoing of the days. It’s based on some repeated harmonic-loops, which goes parallel with the repeated actions of the characters. Sound samples from the rushes compose the rhythmic of the music, underlining the environment.
